Ariel

This isn't actually a caption but a story. My second one :D However this story is very different from my standarts and I don't know how you'll react to this. First of all I must explain how I got this idea. You see, one evening being a bit tipsy I started to think about movies like "Avatar" or "District 9" where a human becomes a member of an alien spiecies. So I thought "what if we add a tg element into it?" And that my dear folks is how I ended up making this story. I hope that even if it's not your thing you are going to find it at least interesting :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P-633,comonly called Neptun's garden is a very intriguing planet. It's surface is 99% covered by water with the 1% being small islands from which the biggest one is about twenty kilometers square. On such small pieces of land none creature bigger than a hamster could evolve. The ocean however is full of magnificent creatures. The most fascinating among them are what we call the Aquarians, an underwater humanoid and intelligent spiecies. I've been studying the Aquarians for a very long time and I'm always discovering something new about them. Althought primitive they are inteligent and civlized. They can craft tools which they later use to build their structures and improve life quality. They can build primitive homes, they farm underwater plants and fruits and even tame other less inteligent creatures. They have culture which is constantly evolving. Aquarians have their own sport variations and they love to compete in those games with eachother in something that can resemble olympic. The aquarians also know art from which the most popular is painting. They make paint from sand and sea plants for their drawings they make on the stones outside the water. If I have to compare them to humans I would say they're as inteligent as people from bronze age, maybe even more. Aquarians on average live about 200 years which is pretty impressive. You can easily distinguish their gender by the apperance. Females are thinner with a gentle body structure and an hourglass like figure. You can also tell it's a she by the two mounds on her chest that resemble breasts. However unlike our ladies, Aquarian breasts don't have nipples and they serve a different purpose. Instead of fat it's filled with a special water like fluid that can be fertilized by a male. In the mating season the produciton of this fluid in a female's body is highly increased which causes their breasts to double in size. They use this asset to lure males during the mating season and copulate. Sounds familiar, huh?

I like to think of aquarians as mermaids. They have this humanoid look with their lower half being fish like and their upper half similiar to that of a human being with some noticible differences in their facial features. The six long ribs sticking out of their heads connected with a membrane are actually their ears. Aquarians don't make any sounds and they comunicate via brain waves they can send to others and recive throught the nerve system in their ears. Something like a radio antena. Their skin is either white, pale blue or pale green covered with stripes in different coulours and shapes. It is also belived they can see perfectly in the dark and for an Aquarian's eyes it doesn't make a difference if it's a day or night. Among the aquarians there is one extraoridnary specimen. A female I named Ariel.

What is so extraoridnary about Ariel? You see the Aquarians have four fingers while Ariel has five of them with the fifth being actually a thumb. Unlike her hairless kinsfolk, Ariel has long red hair, hence the name I gave her. You know, the little mermaid from old stories. Another difference is that her lips are full and have this red colour compared to others whose lips are small, narrow and almost the same colour as their skin. Also her teeth looks much more human like if not even identicall. Another thing that makes her standing out from the rest is her facial expressions and how easy you can guess her mood from it. While fully capable of doing it, Aquarians tend to keep a neutral face but Ariel doesn't seem to hide her emotions and you can easily guess when she's happy, angry, sad or bored. To be honest it looks kinda cute. Well, I must correct myself. Ariel isn't the only one of her kind with such features. I saw a couple of other Aquarians with five fingers, hair and human like teeth but those were younglings. Ariel was the only adult Aquarian with such features which makes me belive the younglings I saw must be her offspring. I don't know if this is a mutation or another level of their evolution but I hope that one day I'll find out. Aside from the physical differences, Ariel's behavior is standing out. She is more timid and preferes to stay alone. While other Aquarian females are decorating themselves with leaves, seaweed and colorful stones, Ariel decorates her body with golden necklaces, braclets and other cheap trinkets. She probably got them from the cargo ship wreck that crashed here two years before my first expedition, which was transporting such items to planet Lunaris, where the locals have a huge demand for cheap jewelery. Anyway, Ariel had been on my radar for a long time now. I discovered her during my first expedition but since it was only for two months and I was already leaving I didn't study her enough.

A year later I came back to P-633 with my second expedition. After setting a camp on a small island and diving my research submarine underwater I kept looking for the Aquarians and quickly found their village. Much to my delight I also found Ariel again. A few things had changed since my last visit and it seems like Ariel was setting new beauty standarts for aquarian females since a couple of them were putting seaweed or other plants on their heads to imitiate Ariel's hair. I wonder if the other females are jealous because of Ariel's unique feature. Aquarian females have a tendency to compete a lot when it comes to their looks, especially during mating season and since other females started doing this it made me belive that Ariel was pretty popular among males. Luckily enough I was going to find out since it was mating season and I could see the whole ritual for myself.

I landed my submarine in a safe distance so I won't be disturbing and send a probe where the Aquarians were gathering and throught the monitiors I observed the show. It looked like an underwater ballet. The males gathered in a circle while the females were inside. The females were performing their seductive dance and various acrobations, flashing their swollen breasts at their admirers to get their attention. The bigger the chest was the more children the female can provide which was a desireble asset. However boobs isn't all that matters for males. They also look for something new and exciting to pass their seed on that can enrich their spiecies. Among the females in the circle I spotted Ariel. She was swimming around gracefully like a water nymph and tempting potential partners with her full and prominent assets which doubled in size from the fluid her body was producing. Trully a mesmerizing show.

This season it looks like Ariel raised the bar high. Not only she put some underwater flowers in her hair that looked really cute but she actually used paint to make her lips bright red and colour the area around her eyes with a darker shade. I never heard of Aquarian females using makeup and it made me wonder from where Ariel got this idea? Anyway her makeup seemed to work since Ariel was the most desireble female, almost causing males to fight between eachother to become the partner of her choice. Unlike other females, Ariel didn't even had to try. She simply could choose any of them and she got quite picky with that, swimming around and looking bored. Another unusual standart for aquarians since it was always the females making all the courting, but she turned the whole ritual upside down.

Finally after making about twenty circles, she picked her candidate and the two of them moved away from the gathering. The couple embraced eachother and hugged tightly. Opening their mouths they pressed their lips against eachothers which looked like a kiss. However it may look like just a foreplay but it was the actual copulation. As strange as it sounds for us, the male's tongue is also his reproductive organ, a.k.a his penis. A male puts it deep into a female's throat and while swirling it playfully, casuing the female to feel pleasure he injects his seed inside her. The female stores the seed in her chest which makes it grow even more and where it mixes with her fertile fluids. later on when they're done she moves the mixture into her womb. The whole act lasts from ten to twenty minutes and when it's done the female finds a quiet spot where she can finish the process. For Ariel and her partner it took twenty minutes before her chest was full with his seed. I kept watching carefully and althought I couldn't see clearly what is going on I noticed Ariel's chest swelling more and more as her mating partner was filling her. This meant the seed has been transfered. When the lovers were done, Ariel sailded away to find a quiet spot. Her chest now enormous was slowly bouncing up and down as she carried the seed given to her by her mating partner. About half an hour later her chest returned to normal size which meant she moved their combined fluids to her womb where the impregnation is going to take place.

In the first month of my observation there was no sign showing that Ariel is blessed but about half the way of the second month I could notice the copulation was succesfull and Ariel is baring it's fruits inside her womb. Ariel's lower half seemed to be rounder and wider than usually. The next month she had a visible bump on her belly and her tail got even bigger. the following weeks, Ariel was growing and until the sixth month which is the usual period of pregnancy for Aquarian females, Ariel got huge. It was kinda funny to see her like this. Due to being heavily pregnant instead of swimming gracefully throught the depts she was clumsily floating in the water. At times she resembled a buoy, lazily drifting around and if she wanted to move faster she had to use her hands.

Finally, one day I saw Ariel heading to the shallow waters which was a sign it's time. I followed her and became a witness of how Aquarians are born. Ariel leaned her arms against the bottom and raised up her lower half which was a standart position during labor. From the expression on her face I could clearly say it wasn't an easy task and it must be painfull. It took a while but Ariel finally pushed an egg out of her birth canal on the upper back of her tail. A jelly bubble the size of a watermellon. A few minutes later another came out, and another and another, ending up at five. Inside those bubbles were newly born Aquarians. Now it was up to them to free themselves from their prisons. Aquarian females give birth from three to seven of those eggs. Althought not all of them are strong enough to escape the bubble and if they're not then the females leave them to die. Quite brutall if you ask me but this world has it's own rules. Ariel however did something I never heard about. using her own fingernail she made a cut on each egg to help her children to get out. This was something nobody mentioned before. Such an act of compassion towards the weak younglings was unusual. Aquarians weren't bad mothers but Ariel's maternal instinct seemed to be way stronger than normal and from my earlier observations I saw that she puts more attention towards her children like if she was overly scared they will hurt themselves. Thanks to her help all of the five younglings survived. When Ariel made sure they are safe, she took a rest from the harsh and painfull labor and remained motionless for a time while her children cuddled up to her.

Today marks a full year of my expedition. Of course I didn't spend all the time studying Ariel. I got a closer look on the overall spiecies and learned a lot about their culture, what are they doing in their free time and the hierarchy in their tribes. Still my focus was on Ariel and how much she was standing out from the rest. In their tribe, Ariel has a role of gatherer. She swims across the ocean looking for food and building materials. In her free time she likes building structures from stones and the local flora which strickingly resembles buildings made by humans. She also likes to paint and althought she's pretty bad at it compared to their local artist something caught my attention. One day Ariel painted a few stick figures. Human stick figures. I was surprised but I quickly found an easy explanation. After all she might see some humans visiting this planet and that's where she got the inspiration for her drawing. Other than that she likes to chase smaller animals and see if her speed can keep up to them. Aqiarians often visit the surface but mostly when it's raining because they don't like their skin to get dry. Ariel however comes out of the water on daily basis no matter the weather. She likes to climb onto the beach or find a comfortable rock where she can sit down and look at the sky. She startes at it for long periods of time, like if she was deeply thinking or looking for something. She also likes to take part in their sports activities but she pretty much sucks at it. However her determination to keep up with the rest is admirable. Ariel rarely takes part in their parties they organise every once in a while and she preferes to stay in a close circle of friends. One of them seems to be quite close to Ariel. I often see the two of them together. I named the second one Stacy since her goofy behavior reminds me of my clasmate from high school. Stacy seems to adore Ariel's apperance. Despite Ariel hating it she plays with her hair quite a lot, putting decorations in it. She was also the first one who started to put plants on her head to make it look like she also has hair. Ariel might be different but she's not an outsider. She can socialize with her kind and I saw her a lot among other females as they were swiming together and probably talking with eachother. Can't tell exactly since they don't make any sounds and comunicate via something like radio signals sending by their brain waves throguht their pointy ears. Anyway, Ariel was one of them despite her different apperance and behavior which sometimes resembled that of a human. But that's probably just my imagination and I interpret these behaviors as human like

My study is only half the way and I still have a year ahead of me which is plenty of time for me to learn about the Aquarians, that's why I took a few days off. I mentioned earlier about the crash on P-633. The pilot, Martin Bush was never found and nobody knows what happened to him. I'm near the crash site so I decided to take a look at it. The place was probably searched countless times by the rescue team so I didn't hope to find anything but I was wrong and I stumbled upon something amazing that can shine a new light on this case. I found Martin's journal on one of the bigger islands nearby and that meant he was able to leave the ship that fell into the ocean. I settled down myself on my bunk bed, grabbed something hot to drink and begin to read.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is Martin Bush. I never wrote a journal or a dairy and never really felt the need to but fuck it.

Day 1
I barely made it out of water. What was supposed to be a temporary emergency landing turned out to be a disaster when the second core stopped working. My ship fell into the water and I miraculously escaped from death's grip. I told that fat jerk, my boss to send this piece of crap to the junkyard and buy a new transporter. It didn't have to be luxurious, I don't need that but at least it should work. But no. That fat, cheap pig would rather spend the cash on his exotic alien hookers. Fuck it, if the rescue team get's my signal and take me out of here I'm going to spit in his face and quit the job.

Day 2
The island is too small and I'm afraid a bigger wave can wash me off of it. I need to find something bigger where I can find shelter. I see something in the distance. A land that seems big enough and has plants from which I can make shelter. Can I make this swim? I was good at school.

Day 3
Luckily the water destilator works perfectly and since the planet is almost nothing but water I won't be complaining for the lack of it. The problem is food. I don't have any fishing tools and besides sand there is nothing on this small piece land. I need to get out of here.

Day 4
The big island seems to be near enough. I practiced today and I think I can make it.

Day 5
My lungs burn and every inch of my muscles hurts badly but I made it. I'm on the bigger island. Too tired to do anything, even write.

Day 6
I build a shelter and found some edible food. Now I only have to wait for the rescue team to find me. I send the signal before crashing so they deffinitelly got it. But how long is it going to take? I have no idea but I hope to get out of this place soon. Until then I have to find something so I won't go crazy from the lack of things to do here.

Day 7
Today I traveled across the island which wasn't a long walk. It took me like ten minutes to get from one side to another. On my way I also met the locals at the shore. I belive they call them Aquarians and that they're quite inteligent beings. Luckily they're also harmless.

Day 8
I made some fishing tools from what I found and I hope to eat something better than those sour berries that grow on the local bushes. When I went to the shore I once again stumbled upon the locals. Two  females and one male, I think judging by the apperance, were sitting on the beach and throwing a stone between eachother. It looked like a game of hot potato. I was standing there watching them but they noticed me. For a minute they were looking at me with curiousity before they crawled back to the water and dissapeard beneth it's surface.

Day 9
I caught a fish! Or whatever it is. Don't care, I'm going to eat it.

Finally a proper meal.

Reminder: Eat the red and silver fish. The blue taste like crap. Literally!

Day 10
With a much better mood I took a bath in the ocean when out of a sudden I got surrounded by the Aquarians. They didn't make a move and they didn't seem like they intend to harm me. They were just staring, studying me like if I was some alien. Well, technically I am an alien here.

Day 11
I'm not getting near the water ever again. Today while taking a swim, one of those scaly bastards aporached me. He didn't seem dangerous so I let him to get closer. For a moment it looked like we would make an attempt to comunicate however when he came very close he actually bit my arm. It hurts like hell!

Day 12
Where the hell is the rescue team! I need to get out of here asap! Something bad is happening. Around the area I was bitten my skin feels hard and slippery and it has this pale green colour. Did I caught a disase from one of these bastartds? Like my luck isn't horrible enough.

Day 13
unlucky 13. It's getting worse. My whole right hand has now this pale green colour. The skin is smooth and when I touch it it feels like I have this thin hard layer. I also got a fever. I feel weak and it's hard to breath at times. Please come faster and get me out of here.

Day 14
The disase is spreading over my chest and left hand. Even if the planet provides me a healthy source of food I'm loosing weight at a rapid rate. If that isn't enough the skin on my chest feels really thin and it's sagging making it look like two empty plastic bags. Still no sight from the rescue team but the natives keep me company. I can see their heads poking out from the water. They are watching me. Are they waiting until I die so they can eat me. If so then I hope they get sick.

Day 15
My whole body is now pale green. My skin is slick and cool to the touch with what feels like a thin layer of something reminiscent of a very fine version of fishscales. Also I lost any trace of hair beside the one on my head. Surprisingly I don't feel sick. Aside from a few times when I had breathing problems nothing indicates that I'm going to die soon. Maybe it's just temporary and I'm going to get better soon?

Day 16
Fuck! Whatever is happening to me it got worse. I have webbing between my fingers. A fucking nerealy transculent membrane stretched between each of my fingers like some kind of frog! My nails also got long and sharp. They are shaped like triangles and cut throught stuff like a knife. I wanted to cut them but it turns out they as hard as a bone. What the hell is happening?!

Day 17
Those sons of bitches are still watching me. Even if I can't see them I feel their presence. They are waiting for something. They won't take me without a fight. If anyone of them gets near I'm going to use every tool to defend myself. I have advantage on land so I should be safe as long as I don't get near water. Just need to be carefull.

Day 18
High fever. Too tired to write. It's like my muscles burns.

Day 20
Didn't care to write anything yesterday and I don't feel like writing today. My body is still changing and it's terrifying. It hurst like hell and I feel like my bones are cracking. I lost so much weight I can actually see my ribs. Am I going to die soon?

Day 21
I didn't eat for three days. I'm hungry but if I eat I immidiatelly throw it up. The taste of the food here suddenly got horrible even thought just a few days ago it seemed to be good.

Day 22
I'm puking blood and I feel like my insides are twisting. I constantly get cramps and I feel sick. The natives showed up again and they brought something that looked like an offering. Some seaweed, plants and something that resembled a fruit. I don't know where the idea came from but when I looked at it I thought like eating it.

Day 23
I ate what the Aquarians brought and it tasted good. It didn't make me sick and I feel better, thought I'm still having cramps in my guts.

Day 24
Today I woke up and thought it's already morning but something was suspicious. It was brigth as a day but I couldn't see the sun and the sky had this strange purple colour with stars clearly visible. A couple hours later I got stunned when I saw the sun raising. How the hell could I see so clearly in the darkness?

Day 25
Last night I only confirmed that I can perfectly see in the darkness. Not only that but if I focus I can see on longer distances. When I took a look at myself in the clear water I realized what might be the cause of this "super power". I got scared when I saw my eyes. Large with a luminous green colour and this inhuman shape.

Day 26
No sign of the rescue team which makes me belive my signal didn't reach anyone and I'm going to spend the rest of my days on this planet. Instead the natives are gathering around. They keep bringing food which doesn't make me sick. I tried to eat something else but after taking the first bite I immidiatelly spit it out. It was disgusting and I couldn't bring myself to eat it so I stick with what the fish men provide me with. Maybe they are not so bad after all?

Day 27
It's getting harder to breath and I'm feeling tired. Not to mention it looks like I grew boobs. A fair c-cup but without nipples. Where the hell did my nipples went? Also the skin on them is not like on the rest of my body. It actually feels thin and soft and very very squishy. Like a pair of plastic bags filled with water. They're squshy and delicate making me feel like they can burst if I squeez them harder. Luckily the skin proved to be pretty durable. Also as embarrasing as it sounds my junk is pretty small right now and I don't belive it works properly.

Day 28
I lost the ability to speak. Seriously I can't even make the slighest sound no matter how hard I try. Whenever I want to talk my lips are moving but nothing is comming out of my mouth. I wanted to scream but ended only with making a quiet hiss which was the air escaping my throat. It's like someone removed my vocal cords. I also suffer from a serious case of shortness of breath. I can't fully fill my lungs with air like if something was blocking me and I have this burning feeling in my chest. I must take quick and short breaths and it works fine. Weird, but considering what is happening nothing is going to surprise me now.

Day 29
Ha! I have a better figure than my ex girlfriend! Forgive me but in my situation there is nothing left but laughing. Jokes aside, I really have this feminine looking figure. My hips are wide while my waist looks like it had been squeezed by a corset. I must have lost about twenty kilos during my stay on this planet.

Day 30
If I ever get out of this shithole I doubt I will ever get laid again. When I saw my reflection I wanted to scream but as you already know I can't make a sound. I don't resemble myself anymore. I don't even resemble a human. My nose is bulbous and rounded, my bone cheeks look different which seriously affected my apperance. Combining it with the huge green eyes and and skin I look more like an Aquarian than a human being. I turned into a monster!

Day 31
Even if it's the middle of the night I can clearly see them. They are watching me carefully. They're clearly interested in me but I don't know their intentions. They had more than one opportunity to attack but they didn't and they keep bringing me food. Strange. Speaking about strange things, my ears got quite deformed. Earlier I noticed some nodules forming on the back of my ears which were growing. Now I have these six sticks made from what feels like cartilage and each one of those sticks is connected by a thin membrane like the one I have between my fingers. I also get this tingling feeling in them. Like a sound vibrating or something.

Day 32
I don't want to be here! Please someone take me out! I'm turning into a monster!

Day 33
I keep sitting on the beach and I feel like crying over the monstrocity I have turned into. I look at my inhuman hands and want to scream. My body is still mutating and I can see more changes in my skin as streaks of orange surging are starting to appear all over my body. I don't belive I'm ever going to leave this planet and I don't feel like I want to at all. I mean look at me. Looking like this on earth I would become a freak!

Day 34
My junk fell off. I mean it really dissapeared! I don't have my penis anymore! I was looking for it all across the beach but I didn't find it. There is nothing there, not even a slit. I look like a Barbie doll! If things can't get even weirder I... I don't know how to say it but I don't have buttcheeks. I mean the trench separating them is gone and they merged together. I also found out I have two holes in that place. One a very small which I quickly found out I use to urinate and the second one doesn't seem to serve any purpose. It makes me curious what is it for but do I really want to know?

Day 35
I've gone deaf. My years are so deformed I can't hear anymore and I'm having trouble to keep balance when standing. I also suffer from dizziness when I'm not sitting. God what's going to be next? When is this going to end?

Day 36
My legs hurt and I can barely stand. I sit almost all day and keep them together. I don't know why I'm doing this. It's like the most comfortable position for me. Like my brain is forcing me to do this. I feel unnatural to spread them. Weird.

Day 37
Today I walked a few steps but then immidiatelly had to sit down and put my legs together. My legs feel weak and on some instinct level I'm afraid to walk. To move I just push myself away with my hands, making sure my legs are sticking together. Am I going crazy?

Day 38
I can hear again but not exactly hear at the same time. I mean I hear the sounds around me. I hear the water, I hear the wind blowing and the small creatures on this island but I don't hear it like I used to. It's more like I feel the sound in the tips of my ears and inrerpret it with my mind.

Day 39
When I got up on my feet today I immidiatelly fell on the ground. My legs are so weak they can't carry my weight anymore. To move around I must crawl and push myself with my hands, dragging my useless legs along. I think this might be the end. I can't survive on this planet like this.

Day 40
They are here again and they are talking to me. I can understand what are they talking. They want me to come with them. They don't mean any harm. They say they're my friends and that I'm safe with them. They want me to take me home where I belong. I want to go home. I don't want to be on this island.

Day 41
I must go home. I don't like the island. I can't breath here. I can't move here. I don't want to walk. walking hurts and scares me. I must go. Home.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I put the journal back and stayed in my bunk for a while. A cold sweat ran across my back after reading it. I felt like I've just finished a horror book. What the hell happened to that guy? His journal gave me shivers. Was it truth? The things that were happening to him or he just went mental and imagined it all, in the end comitting suicide by drowning himself? I was left with more questions than answers but it wasn't up to me to solve this mystery. I needed to hand it over to authorities on earth so I got up and headed to the scanner so I can make a copy and send it back to our police department.

When I was passing by the observation room I suddenly heard a strange noise. I turned around and saw Ariel poking her finger at the glass screen. When she got my attention, much to my shock she smiled and waved at me. Waved like one person waves to another to say hello. Then she called me over with her finger which also was shocking. During my whole study I never saw an Aquarian comunicating with gestures, yet Ariel was using them and she was using gestures known to humans. My heart was beating fast but I aproached her. Ariel proceeded to comunicate with me using signs that could be understood by any human being. I was stunned. How and where did she learn how to comunicate with us? I put my shock aside and focused on the message she was trying to tell me. It was like playing puns with Ariel wanting to say something with hand gestures and me trying to guess. It wasn't easy and from what I could deduce she was trying to warn me about something. I was trying my best to read her message but I didn't quite get it. All I could understand is that something bad is going to happen. Seeing that I don't fully understand, Ariel rolled her eyes and crossed her arms around her chest. She was looking like she was thinking about a way for us to talk. I watched her carefully when her face suddenly made this expression like if she got a briliant idea. Ariel put her finger against the glass. Then she started to write letters. I mean she was writing latin letters! She knew our alphabet! I followed her finger movements, trying to decypher her message

I was standing there dumbfounded. "What are you talking about?" I asked but realized that she can't hear me so having an idea I grabbed my datapad and begin to write what I wanted to say. I showed her the screen and she actually read it. Ariel could read and understand our language! How? Where did she learned it! I wrote this question but after reading it, Ariel rubbed her forehead and begin to write on the glass again.

J U S T L E A V E F O R Y O U R O W N G O O D

I wanted to learn more about her and from where did she learn to comunicate with humans but Ariel continued with her warnings. I took my datapad again and wrote. "What are you trying to tell me? What's going to happen to me? What happened to you?". Ariel went on again

I really was trying to understand what she was trying to tell me and I really wanted to learn more. "Who are you? What do you know? I want to know more about your spiecies. Why do you want me to leave?" I wrote again and showed it to Ariel who frowned at me. The expression on her face was clearly showing she's getting impatient. For a moment it looked like she was thinking before she quickly swam away and dissapeared. My mind was a mess. This was something I had never expected to happen. Comunicating with an Aquarian using my own language. What the hell was going on? I had to find out but I didn't get any time to figure this mystery. Five minutes later Ariel showed herself again, this time holding a metal plate in her hand. I got closer and realized it's a pilot's ID. The water damaged it but I still could read the name on it. "Martin Bush". I nearly got a heart attack at the moment. I quickly grabbed my datapad and wrote "Where did you get this?" Ariel pointed her finger at the ID tag and then at herself. She did it a few times before pointing at me and then at herself. Once again she pointed at the tag, then at herself and then put her finger against the glass.

M E

She then pointed at me and then at her and then at the glass.

She repeated the same patter one more time before she turned around and dissapeared in the deep waters. I was standing there dumbfounded for a while after what I just witnessed before I started to pack my stuff. I don't know it my conclusion is real and I want to be wrong but... Is Ariel really the missing pilot? How? She's an Aquarian but... Her apperance and behavior is much more human like than the others. She also knows our gestures and language. She can read and write! Whatever the truth is I decided to cancel my research project and get the hell out of here.

Ariel’s POV

When I got back at the place where I met this guy yesterday I saw the submarine is gone. I headed towards the surface and emerged from the water just in time to see the expedition ship flying away. If I was capable of doing so I would take a deep breath and sigh with relief but my respiratory system doesn't work like that and in this form it's simply impossible. I kept staring at the sky for a moment before diving back in the water. I can't deny that I felt a little bit jealous he got the chance to escape. Lucky fool didn't know what was coming for him. If not for my warning he would end up like me, being turned into one of them and if he's lucky enough he would get to be a lir'il which means a male. I didn't had this luck and not only they turned me into one of them but I also became a vur'il which is a female member of their spiecies and let me tell you it was quite a change for me. My name is Tal'Ara which can be translated to "the one from the sky" but once it was Martin Bush. My ship crashed on this planet four years ago and I've been stuck here ever since. Althought when I found myself here I was still a human being but the Kek'eoks or as human call them, Aquarians turned me into one of their kind and adopted me among them. My rescue came too late. It was about half a year before the search team landed on this planet. By that time my transformation was long done and I was fully a female Kek'eoks with a new name and purpose as a fully fledged vur'il.

Kek'eoks don't have any sinister intentions by changing other spiecies into their kind. It's very rare since the lack of visitors on this planet. They simply don't trust strangers and in my case they actually did it out of concern, afraid I'm not going to survive here. Since it didn't seem like I'm going to leave on my own they decided to make me a part of their spiecies so I could find myself a new home here. For four years now I'm a kek'eoks and female one to boot. Since the day I had physically become a kek'eoks I've been living with them and learning how to be one of their kind. I've been interacting with them making new bonds and even friendships. I learned their culture and begin to take part in it, helping with it's development. I'm eating with them, working with them and spend my free time among them. I breed with them during the mating season and serve my role by carrying their children and giving birth to new offspring. Thanks to that I became one of them even if it wasn't exactly willing. I'm not happy with what was done to me and I miss earth with the people I loved and cared about but at least I'm still alive. During this time I adapted myself to this place. A place that is my home now and where I serve a purpose to keep our traditions, develop our culture and make sure new children are born to keep our spiecies alive. Yes, I said our spiecies because I don't consider myself a human anymore. Not only because of physically being a different spiecies. Four years of living like this made sure that I call myself a kek'eoks. Trust me, nothing will make you feel less like a man and more like a vur'il than taking a part in their mating ritual and completing it. When I gave birth to my first children the kek'eoks maternal instinct took over me and I almost forgot I was ever a male member of the human spicies. If that egghead doesn't want to end up like me it's better for him if he never comes back. My fellow surot (wich means kinsfolk) were already thinking to find a way for him to join us and I must admit I also thought about it once or twice since he got here. Not because I had a sinister plot but every once in a while I want to talk with someone I can relate to. Well, it's not like I lack of company here althought sometimes I trully feel like an outsider. Anyway I'd better get back to my surot. I have work to do and we also have to prepare for the upcoming holiday. Maybe this year I will take active part in it.
