This is a wonderful story with a happy yet uncertain ending. Eric became Stacey forever after finding a mirror to find a portal to another dimension. It seems you used the physics M theory where there are thousands of universes with different copies of everyone in opposite gender, younger, older, good. and bad. Now only if I could go find a mirror to another dimension or reality as you said. If I became a genetically healthy young woman. I know if she's a good and clever person, I'd stay.
